I. BACKGROUND:   Since our inception in 2007, BPGHM has experimented with various formats for publication of best practices papers. Beginning January 2017, publication will be a collaboration between the Christian Journal for Global Health (CJGH) and BPGHM.  There are three categories of papers.

1. BPGHM/CJGH Papers: Meet criteria for publication on both the BPGHM and CJGH websites.

2. CJGH Papers: Do not meet criteria for publication on BPGHM website, but meet criteria for publication in the CJGH.

3. BPGHM Blog Papers:  Papers that do not meet either criteria 1 or 2 may be submitted for possible publication on the Health For All Nations website Blog (See especially “Best Practices” Tag)
   
   Links to articles and books that qualify as best practice documents from other sites:  These are included in the BPGHM Topics  Pages provided they are freely available open access (Please see Open Access & Fair Use Notice).  This website is intended for use by colleagues all over the world and the content needs to be freely available for those who cannot otherwise afford access.  Authors and publishers of books who make available two or more chapters open access provide a needed service to these colleagues.  In return we also provide a link to the publisher’s site for those colleagues who are able to purchase further information.

   II. HOW TO SUBMIT A POTENTIAL BEST PRACTICES IN GLOBAL HEALTH PAPER:
   1. Review the above Background information.
   
   2. Decide whether you wish to have your paper published:
   a. in the Christian Journal for Global Health (Go to step 3) or
   b. in the BPGHM Blog (Go to step 5)

   3. If you wish to have your paper published in the CJGH, please see:
   a. CJGH Information For Authors and
   b. Author guidelines for assistance with the process of research, writing and article submission.

   4. If you wish to have your CJGH published paper also considered for inclusion in the BPGHM International Standard & Guideline Health Topics pages:
   a. Include references to, and compliance with, best available international standards and practice guidelines (IS&Gs) for global health (Usually from the WHO  representing 194 member countries–See International Standards & Guidelines for Healthcare Missions and What are Best Practices for additional information. The IS&Gs most frequently utilized by missions can be found in the first section of the individual Health Topics pages.
   Note: The WHO utilizes the clinical experts, statisticians and epidemiologists from its 194 member countries as well as over 700 collaborating partners (Including the CDC) to establish evidence-based International Standards & Guidelines (IS&Gs). In accordance with WHO’s mandate, Ministries of Health throughout the world look to WHO IS&Gs for their Best Practices.
   Therefore, referencing the applicable WHO IS&Gs would also add global credibility and greater Ministry of Health acceptance of your proposals. (We have also found that the closer our practice comes to being IS&G evidence-based, the more it confirms the truth of the Bible and especially the teaching and example of Jesus.)
   b. Papers must also be in compliance with Biblical truth and principles as described in the Accord Network Principles of Excellence in Integral Mission and the Standards of Excellence in Short-term Mission (SOE).
